Nigel’s background is in the printing/packaging/machinery industry. Having graduated in Engineering from Imperial College, London, he started work as a production engineer, moving into production management and then into sales & marketing before taking on a general management role for a medium sized group. This eventually led to running his own small business manufacturing machinery in a niche market.

The breadth of experience within a range of industries and with large, medium and small businesses has given Nigel a detailed understanding of all aspects of running a business. He has been intimately involved in financial management, sales & marketing, production, lean manufacturing, outsourcing, etc in both production and creative industries.

Having run his own business Nigel is experienced in starting up, growing and establishing a brand – both in the home and export markets. His production background and Manufacturing Advisory Service experience gives him first hand knowledge of maximising efficiency through applying ‘lean’ technology in a variety of business environments, especially with small businesses.

Nigel is a Chartered Engineer, a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Member of the London Chamber of Commerce.

Nigel says: “Mentoring is often about being able to combine strategic thinking with detailed, practical and tactical help. It is also about guidance and recognising when and where to seek specialised assistance. Most importantly it is about adding value. I think my hands-on experience and my flexible approach enables me to be of significant benefit and value to my clients.
